Estate Administration Attorney – North Barrington, IL

Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated Estate Administration Attorney to provide expert guidance and support to our clients through the probate process and administration of estates. The ideal candidate will have experience in estate administration, trust administration, and probate law, with a passion for helping clients navigate complex legal and financial matters during emotionally challenging times. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer estates, trusts, and probate matters from inception to conclusion, including the preparation and filing of necessary legal documents.
  • Guide clients through the probate process, including asset valuation, distribution, and resolution of estate-related issues.
  • Work closely with executors, trustees, and beneficiaries to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Prepare estate tax returns and provide counsel on tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities for estates and beneficiaries.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to provide holistic estate planning and administration services.
  • Handle contested matters such as will contests and disputes over fiduciary duties when necessary.
  • Stay updated on relevant changes in estate, tax, and probate laws, ensuring clients receive accurate and timely legal advice.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing with the state bar.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estate administration, probate law, and trust administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Illinois probate law and estate tax regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and effectively.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor when working with clients through sensitive matters.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with estate planning and drafting of wills and trusts.
  • Knowledge of tax planning strategies and estate tax laws.
  • Experience in litigation related to estate disputes.
